Digging deeper into the math

• 2010 Arizona Mathematics Standards – unpacking documents: Examples and explanations of each Common Core Standards for all levels is provided.
• Ohio Department of Education – Model Curricula: These mathematics model curricula were written by Ohio educators to support the implementation of Ohio’s New Learning Standards in Mathematics (CCSSM).
• Common Core State Standards Progression Documents: The Common Core State Standards in mathematics were built on progressions: narrative documents describing the progression of a topic across a number of grade levels, informed both by research on children’s cognitive development and by the logical structure of mathematics.

Teaching the math

• Inside Mathematics: A professional resource for educators to improve students’ mathematics learning and performance. This site features classroom examples of innovative teaching methods and insights into student learning, tools for mathematics instruction that teachers can use immediately, and video tours of the ideas and materials on the site. Explore materials and tasks you can use immediately with your students. Inside Mathematics has aligned our tasks and assessment resources with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematical Content.
• Illustrative Mathematics: Illustrative Mathematics is designed to illustrate the range and types of mathematical work that students experience in a faithful implementation of the Common Core State Standards. Classroom lessons of the standards are provided.
• Kansas Association for Teachers of Mathematics (flip books): The Common Core “FlipBooks” are a compilation of research, “unpacked” standards from many states, instructional strategies and examples for each standard at each grade level. The intent is to show the connections to the Standards of Mathematical Practices for the content standards and to get detailed information at each level.
• Clarifying expectations for teachers & students: These flipbooks are available for checkout to Central Rivers AEA teachers from Central Rivers AEA Media. They unpack the grade appropriate standards for math content. They connect the Enduring Understands and Essential Questions for Mathematical Practices to each standard. Each page unpacks the cluster and grade level specific standards into clear teacher friendly text.
