Home School Resources

As a service to the students and families in our agency, Central Rivers AEA provides annual testing services to home schooled students at no cost.  This service is available to students who receive competent private instruction (CPI) under either option 1 or option 2. Home school students may also access annual testing services through their resident school district at no cost and without requiring dual enrollment.  However, if a student is dual enrolled, annual testing is required whether completed via the resident school district or Central Rivers AEA. Test Used for the Annual Assessment at Central Rivers AEA

Central Rivers AEA will be using the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP).  This relatively new test is the same test currently used in all of Iowa’s accredited districts and schools.  This test is aligned with the Iowa Core Curriculum and offers assessments in the areas of reading, language/writing, and mathematics in grades 3-11 and science in grades 5, 8, and 10. Although this test is available in both paper/pencil and computer administered formats, CRAEA will be using the paper/pencil format for the 2019-20 testing.

To participate in this annual testing, registration is required.  The registration deadline for the 2019-20 testing is December 20, 2019.  To obtain registration materials and answers to any questions, please contact us at Central Rivers AEA using the contact information below.
