Social networking use in classrooms can have a positive effect on student engagement. Yet, irresponsible use of social networking tools can have serious repercussions for students and adults. Educators need to be mindful of the pros and cons in the planning process for integrating social media into instruction. Successfully using social networking tools are an important life skill for today’s students and our classrooms are key environments for providing necessary coaching and guidance.
