Central Rivers AEA provides the Seal of Biliteracy stickers to districts
What is the Seal of Biliteracy Program?
The Seal of Biliteracy Program is designed to recognize graduating high school students who have demonstrated proficiency in English and at least one other world language. See the Iowa Biliteracy Program Seal Guidance page for more details.
Why is the Seal of Biliteracy important?
Earning a seal of biliteracy is important because knowing and using more than one language is a critical 21st-century skill. A seal of biliteracy validates language as an asset; recognizes the importance of language diversity and cultural identity; prepares students to engage in the labor market and the global society; and provides employers, universities, and grant or scholarship providers with a method to recognize applicants for their dedication to attaining biliteracy.
Our school has a student who has earned the Seal of Biliteracy, where can I get the seal?
Central Rivers AEA provides the Seal of Biliteracy stickers to districts at no charge. To submit a request for the seal, please watch this tutorial and place your order via the Creative Services Ordering System. For more information, please contact Sarah Nelson, Director of IT and Special Programs.
