When You’re in the Spotlight: Crisis Communication training for administrators coming Nov. 4th

Katie Ward is the Media Trainer and Consultant for Wixted & Company, a nationally recognized strategic communications, crisis management and executive training firm, located in Des Moines Iowa. Katie will be presenting, “When You’re in the Spotlight – Crisis Communication Training.” This session will focus on helping school administrators prepare for high stake interviews, meetings and presentations, with a particular emphasis placed on interacting with the news media and navigating the district’s brand on social media.

From experience in the newsroom, photojournalism, editing and reporting, she knows today’s ever-changing media landscape from the inside out. Katie began her career as a reporter and weekend anchor at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri; was recognized in 2004 as a top journalist at the Hearst National Broadcast Championship in San Francisco, California; and received an Emmy nomination for her work as a breaking news reporter at KCCI.
