Do you need support when a student is in an immediate crisis? Do you know who to contact and the type of services available?

Central Rivers AEA is dedicated to supporting districts to implement comprehensive mental health services and supports. A critical component of a comprehensive system is collaboration with outside providers, such as mobile crisis response teams. Iowa Mental Health Regions provide mobile crisis services for individuals in crisis. Mobile crisis response teams deploy mental health professionals for crisis support, on-site, within 60 minutes, 24/7.

In many counties, mobile crisis response services are already available. In others, they are being developed. Check out the attached document to learn what is currently available in your county!

Concern about the wellbeing of students and educators is something that concerns us all. In order to help support the wellbeing needs during this unique time in education, Central Rivers AEA is offering three types of Mental Health First Aid training. This flyer outlines each opportunity. Also, Central Rivers is excited to financially support districts and cover the fees for the training. This opportunity is first come, first serve so please reach out to your regional administrator or Cindy Rurup if you have any questions.
